Excellent adventure with more fowl and fish to fill in the peace and solitude It seemed to me the idyll for rowing or sailing so it was a no- brainer in choosing the excellent comfort of The Spirit of Coorong cruiser,in our discovery tour of this pristine body of water. Its so clear that it is hard to believe the Coorong is connected to the muddy Murray River. There is a spirit about that infuses into everyone on board. its great to share in its solitude and peacefulness. Our Captain and host were amicable to the max, fuelled with more interesting facts and in-depth info to create a stimulating and humorous four hour adventure. We saw sandpipers, plovers, egrets, black swans, herons ,ibises, pelicans and the shy pied oyster- catcher as well as The cape barren geese and my favourite the banded stilts. there is a cornucopia of fowl life and fishes everywhere. Wish i had a line trailing in the water.
The Beautiful Coorong The warm greeting by the lady in the office was a great start to our Coorong Cruise and was made even better by the wealth of knowledge and experience of the captain and guide, Bain and his assistant, Lachie. We enjoyed pipis cooked on the boat by Bain, a delicious lunch of cold meats and salad, tea and coffee and cake for afternoon tea. We were taken on 2 guided walks, one to the Southern Ocean and one to see aboriginal middens and try some fresh water dug from a shallow hole in the sand. We saw seals and different birdlife along the way. I thoroughly recommend this trip.
Really good! Took one of these runs out through the lock and to the Murray Mouth. Great short trip, excellent commentary. We were able to beach the boat at the mouth, get off and walk around there for a bit.
