5 star ratingVery Educational Partner & I went on the 4 hour Cooyong Discovery Cruise as we were in Goolwa on a Thursday. Great trip with a lovely lunch of mixed cold meats and salads, bread roll, biscuits & cheese, tea & coffee.

The skipper Bain was very informative about the Coorong & the Barrages and had many stories of early days and the recent drought. Because of the silting up of the mouth we had to start from Hindmarsh Island – a 15min drive there from Goolwa. We had a short walk on the sand of the Mouth of the Murray, as well as a guided nature walk from the Coorong through to the Southern Ocean by Brendan which was also very informative. Lots of birds to see even though it wasn’t peak bird season.

A very enjoyable trip and totally recommended.

5 star ratingGreat day out A most interesting and enjoyable tour. All day, including lunch and morning and afternoon tea. Comfortable boat, very informative guides and fascinating walks over the sand hills to historic and indigenous sites. Good bird life and scenery. Some of the older passengers found the going a bit tough in the sand, particularly on the second and longer walk but don't let that stop you. Overall, an excellent experience, suitable for all age groups.

5 star ratingHighlight of our holiday We did the six hour Adventure Cruise and loved every minute. Commentary on board the ship was great, and easy to hear on the upper deck. As a birdwatcher, I had a wonderful time looking out at the huge number of birds we cruised past (a total of 46 different species). Bain slowed down when we came near large numbers of birds or other interesting things. The two walking trips we did (one with Mat, the other with Bain) were both really good. Both chaps know their stuff and their passion for the Coorong, its wildlife and its history, shines through. Loved drinking the water that Bain found in the bottom of a hole that he dug in the sand! Also enjoyed the way they (gently!) ram the ship up on the sand so we could get off and walk! Well worth your time and money.
