5 star ratingReally good! Took one of these runs out through the lock and to the Murray Mouth. Great short trip, excellent commentary. We were able to beach the boat at the mouth, get off and walk around there for a bit.

5 star ratingA 6 hour cruise of discovery from Goolwa Wharf to the reaches of the Coorong National Park We took our cruise of the Coorong aboard the Spirit of the Coorong and found the whole experience exhilarating, informative and very good value. Lunch and an entree of freshly cooked cockles/pipi in a creamy white sauce along with afternoon tea were all included. The boat is modern and comfortable and even though the boat was almost full everybody was served with expertise and a smile. The crew, Bain and Dave, were experienced, informative and friendly. The history of the creation of the barrage system that keeps the sea from encroaching on the Murray River and the Lakes was a feature as was the Murray mouth and the many bird species that either live or migrate too and from the area.

The boat departs the Goolwa Wharf and travels through the lock in the Goolwa Barrage up to the river mouth and then onto the Coorong National Park. The first stop allows the passengers to take a guided walk through the dunes to the sea. Explanations of the history of the area from the indigenous past to the early settlers to the modern day and the flora and fauna of the area were a highlight. Lunch in transit to the second spot was excellent. The second walk is about half way into the dunes and focuses on the indigenous way of life.

You know when you have had a good day out when six hours flashes by all to soon.

5 star ratingMaranui 1 boat cruise We had a glorious cruise with a great captain - saw some amazing bird life, some lazy seals and heard great historical facts along the way. We'll definitely go again & bring some friends next time.
