Lots of birds We had a great time! First time we had ever gone through a lock. Very interesting seeing the dredging at the mouth of the Murray River and where the freshwater of the Murray River meets the saltwater of the Southern Ocean; you can actually see the difference in the water where they meet. Our guide really knew his birds which was great because birdwatching was one of the main reasons we selected this cruise. Beach walks were fun. Lunch was nice.
Great way to spend the day We took the 3.5 hour cruise on a fine sunny day last week and thoroughly enjoyed it. The guides were very knowledgeable and presented the information in a way that was easy to grasp without the corny jokes so many guides seem to think we enjoy. The trip through the lock was something new to us and we loved seeing the seals frolicking and so many birds. Especially interesting to visit the area famous for Mr Percival and Storm Boy.
A truly wonderful experience! We enjoyed a wonderful trip on The Spirit of Coorong yesterday afternoon with Dan & Dave (no, not Dad & Dave!), complete with a delicious salad lunch, afternoon tea, informative information along the tour as well as on the walk through the sand dunes. We would highly recomment this trip to everyone, regardless of their physical abilities. We had the added bonus of seeing many different species of birds & also seals sunning themselves on the Goolwa Barrage. It was an absolutely perfect afternoon. Thanks you everyone involved.
