Fantastic day This was my second trip with Coorong Cruises and it was just as enjoyable as the first. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable and very organised. Highly recommend spending a few hours on our beautiful waterways with Coorong Cruises.
Spirit of the Coorong Cruise - 18/06/17 Departing at 10.00am my wife and I along with 13 other passengers began our cruise. Daniel, our Captain and Dave our crew member. made sure we were welcome and comfortable, either in the cabin or on on the upper deck. Daniel's brief explanation of what we were to experience helped us know this was going to be something different as far as a cruise is concerned. Morning Tea, a very tasty Lunch and afternoon tea was served as part of the cost. There were two excursions walking over sand dunes, one to view the Southern Ocean and the second to be given a bit of the history of our First Indigenous People as well as some special sights and including finding fresh water in the the sand.Keen photographers have many opportunities for taking photos of the myriad of bird life (which Daniel can virtually name all) and many seals. The cruise in its entirety is 6 hours.Booking is made easy by internet and all staff are very friendly. If you are visiting South Australia and have a couple of days a visit to Victor Harbour/Goolwa is well worth your while.
A fantastic family day out What an excellent day out. When hubby first suggested it l was a little unsure due to $$$ and with two children aged 8 and 9 who are very active didn't think they would sit still long enough to enjoy it. But how wrong was l. We got to sit outside up the top, and got to see all the action. We saw seals, various birds, even had a check-list where the kids could tick off the birds we had seen, so they were eagerly looking for bird to tick off the list. We loved getting off and following our guide on a walk to find cockle shells, the kids had a ball learning how to find them on the edge of the see (mum was a little nervous though), and learning about which plants are what and what is edible. Lunch was a real treat, cold meats and salads (the kids loved it), and brought out in cute little Tupperware type containers with the food in different sections, made it a lot easier to eat outside where it was windy. The kids enjoyed the walk to look at shells and loved digging in the sand to look for water. It was a brilliant 6 hours and well worth the money, even the kids did not squabble with each other once in the 6 hours... which is a common occurrence a lot lately.... so that is saying a lot... Only thing l would say is put on plenty of sunscreen and reapply it, a few of us got burnt... A terrific day out and if you have children they will really enjoy it and can learn a lot.
