What a great day trip ! Six hour cruise of the Coorong and Murray mouth. The vessel was very comfortable. Tour included morning tea, lovely lunch and afternoon tea. The crew were fantastic, friendly and extremely informative. They gave us lots of information on local history and wild life. The native flora and fauna ( Lots of great birdlife ). There was lots to see and they they took us on a couple of great walks.
Really good! Took one of these runs out through the lock and to the Murray Mouth. Great short trip, excellent commentary. We were able to beach the boat at the mouth, get off and walk around there for a bit.
What a wonderful experience Today we boarded the boot for the Coorong Adventure Cruise and what an adventure it was. We saw seals sunning on the lock structure while we sailed through the Goolwa Barrage, an abundance of birdlife all the way and had a taste of some Cocles prepared by the skipper Bain. We had a fantastic walk over the sand dunes at Barker's Knoll to the Southern Ocean Our host Lauchie explained how the local Ngarrindjeri People selected many vegetation for bush tucker and medicine. He demonstrated how they collected Cockels from the beach and lots of other interesting things. After boarding the vessel again we given a very nice and tasty lunch and sailed to Cattle point where we were guided by Bain to a few Middens used bythe local Aboriginal tribe and he demonstrated how the collected fresh drinking water from almost the top of the dunes. On our way back to Goolwa we were treated with some afternoon tea. Thank you guys for giving us these valuable lessons and looking after us so well.
