	Goolwa to Mannum FULL DAY CRUISE – 4th June 2011

	Departs Goolwa main wharf at 9 am aboard the luxurious “Spirit of the Murray” cruising upstream to Clayton and past Point Sturt into Lake Alexandrina. Across the Lake, past the Narrows and Point Malcolm Lighthouse to Pomanda Island and back into the Murray River again. Continue upstream past Wellington and the Jervois irrigation area, the Tailem Bend cliffs, Murray Bridge to Mannum. Morning tea and lunch are served during the cruise and the captain provides an informative commentary throughout the day. 	The 5 day / 4 night cruise travels through 3 state borders. The journey begins at Lock 1, Wellington and heads to Renmark, then north another 100 kms to Kulcurna before finishing at Border Cliffs. 	The 5 Day, 4 Night cruise downstream from Mildura to Loxton. Pass through 8 Locks from Lock 11 to Lock 4 and the Kamakazi Flats before arriving at Loxton. Cruise 38 kms along the Darling River. 	6 Day / 5 Night Cruises : Albury to Echuca

	This section of the river is rarely cruised except for tinnies & canoes. Irrigation water is released from the Hume Dam down to Lake Mulwala where it is released down the Yarrawonga Canal into Victoria and the Mulwala Canal into NSW. Irrigation water is released from Lake Mulwala down the Murray River to Torrumbarry, above Torrumbarry water is released down the National Channel into Victoria. The flows in these sections are the highest during peak irrigation season. Cruising through these sections is varied and can be quite hazardous due to swift currents and many snags. A highlight on this cruise is the Barmah Choke just below Picnic Point. At Yarrawonga the boat will be transported around the dam as there is no lock.
